Please let us know about your Gulf Coast Experience!!!
Named for the Hurricane and the flooding afterwards that threatened the City, Katrina Corps believes that “Impossible is nothing.”
Since Spring Break 2007, Katrina Corps has hosted and co-sponsored over 5,000 volunteers, like you. Together we are a formidable force in the city of New Orleans. We are suspending services until 2010 for re-organization and pursuit of operational grants from local, state, and the federal government. It’s no secret that Katrina Corps does the work that real people need done—fast.
Milestones
Katrina Corps had over 5000 volunteer workers. The volunteers have come from all 50 states across the country and 18 foreign countries. They have worked on over 1700+ projects…helped open 32 schools…2 community centers, animal shelters, bayou restoration projects, homeless shelters, help feed over 10,000 and clocked in over 200,000+ work hours. This equals over 2.8 million labor dollars and over $5 million in revenue for local businesses. We also have taken the time to mentor several local teenagers in the process and a few from out of state. Make your time and place in history in 2010! Take the challenge. Volunteers are the force of change world-wide.
