This experience has opened my eyes to New Orleans. I’ve been here before and I saw the devastation, but this time I had the opportunity to really understand the situation. By the end of the week, I no longer felt that I was some outsider peeking over my backyard fence to see the trouble that was going on-that fence was gone and there I was in the middle of the ninth ward, speechless and angry.
In other words, being there has meant that I am a little less ignorant and a little more socially aware of what I could do to help more.

P.S. I hope Katrina Corps is going strong and that all is well.
